Morley Fund Management wanted an approach for SRI that would establish a leading position in SRI and strengthen their fund management and marketing.
Claros provided advice on the research processes and marketing, including developing their 5x5 matrix tool for assessing sustainability; helping institutionalise integration between SRI and mainstream fund managers and demonstrating the advantages of a policy of openness.

A group of US organisations, including the corporate governance activist, Bob Monks; the environmental coalition, CERES; and the shareholder backed CampaignExxonMobil wanted an analysis of ExxonMobil's attitude to climate change and its implication for shareholder value and risk.
Claros authored the report "Risking Shareholder Value? ExxonMobil and Climate Change: An Investigation of Unnecessary Risks and Missed Opportunities" in 2002, which found the company was putting at risk more than $100 billion in long-term shareholder value in the company by its attitude to climate change. In 2003 a second report "Sleeping Tiger, Hidden Liabilities", identified that the company was alone among the oil managers in failing to recognise climate change risks, and that this represented a major governance failure at the organisation. The reports were influential in gaining the support of over 20% of investors for shareholder resolutions on renewable energy and climate change.
