This organisation exists to provide a fellowship of people from far and near to support the Cathedral and to raise funds to meet objectives which include:
the preservation and enhancement of the site and setting of the Cathedral, its fabric, furniture and fittings;
the fostering of closer links between the Cathedral and the parishes of the diocese
contact with other cathedrals in England and throughout the Anglican Communion.
Membership of the Friends provides an opportunity to value and support the Cathedral as a centre for worship particularly for those who live away from Wakefield and are unable to worship at the Cathedral frequently.
New Friends are most welcome and are invited to join by contacting the Secretary, Miss Evelyn Spurr at the Cathedral
The annual subscription rates for 2005 are:
Ordinary single membership £10.00
Concessionary single membership 5.00
Married couple 15.00
Ordinary life membership 150.00
Senior citizen life membership 75.00
Business corporate membership 50.00
Schools and charitable corporate membership 15.00
